Miles Jesu
Totally dedicated and committed to transforming the world in Christ. Miles Jesu: Sons and Daughters of the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of the Epiphany

Welcome to Miles Jesu!

Miles Jesu (Latin for Soldier of Jesus) is a form of consecrated life in the Catholic Church for the laity, known as an Ecclesial Family of Consecrated Life, whose purpose is "to instill Catholic ideals and goals in the world to further the Kingdom of Christ, making Him the Center of all human life". The Holy Father himself is consistently promoting such forms of consecrated life as something especially inspired by the Holy Spirit for the needs of our times. Miles Jesu works to promote unity and harmony in the Church by spreading the teachings of the Vicar of Christ.

"You Are Soldiers"

Pope John Paul II called Miles Jesu 'soldiers' ... the front-line soldiers who are essential in bringing the Catholic faith and Christ to the world. Miles Jesu is active in many countries around the globe, bringing Christ to the poor by meeting both their bodily and spiritual needs. We sponsor soup kitchens, boys' and girls' towns, medical missions, vocation discernment retreats, schools, conferences and much, much more.

Please take some time to explore our site, we have much to offer you on your spiritual journey. If you have questions about Miles Jesu or how you can assist one of our ministries, please contact us.

Thank you for visiting!

The New EvangelizationThe New Evangelization

We participate in the Church’s mission principally through the new evangelization: led by the spirit of the Gospel for the sanctification of the world from within as leaven (cf. LG 4).”

The idea “new evangelization,” and its companion “re-evangelization” were signature themes of Pope John Paul II. As he himself noted, however, the concept originated with Pope Paul VI in the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Nuntiandi, published in 1975. First as Cardinal Ratzinger and now as Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI continues to develop these ideas in the new millennium. Read more...>

Availability, the gift of saying 'yes'Availability: The Gift of Saying 'Yes'

Availability is a cornerstone of Miles Jesu’s charism. Paul Murphy, MJ (1939-1976), a domus member and an architect, had a sign on his desk at work which read: “God doesn’t want your ability. He wants your availability.” Well yes, really he wants both. But “availability” is key here because God already has all the abilities he will ever need! The one and only thing in creation that he does not control directly is the free will of his rational creatures. So you see, availability becomes all-important. Our availability is what makes it possible for him to use all his many other gifts to us—our “abilities”—to make us part of his great epiphany. Read more...>

Fr. Paul Mary Vota, MJOne Step Ahead

After struggling with cancer for two and a half years, Fr. Paul Vota, MJ, passed away November 26th, 2009. Fr. Vota helped many people in their journey toward Christ. During his last few weeks before his death, Fr. Vota repeatedly expressed his desire to see God. Among many other accomplishments, Fr. Vota co-authored the Litany for Unity, a communal prayer asking God the Father to grant the whole Church that unity which his Son implored for us at the last supper. Now we entrust Fr. Vota into the hands of our Father and know that he will intercede for all the members of Miles Jesu in a powerful way to help us attain and hold fast to that unity we need in our faith family.
